About this position

Our client, an established and growing Manufacturing company in the Burlington area, has an immediate opportunity for a Production/Inventory Control Manager to join their team. This is a key role within the organization which is responsible for providing leadership to the planning and scheduling teams to ensure appropriate flow of product that meets manufacturing and sales targets. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a fast-paced Manufacturing setting, focussed on production/operations including scheduling and material flow.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and technical direction to the Production Control, Scheduling and Shipping teams
  • Balance production and inventory levels to support sales and manufacturing targets
  • Develop master production schedules for finished goods based on business needs
  • Analyze inventory and make recommendations to determine proper disposition
  • Interpret forecasts and use judgement to anticipate/react to demand fluctuations
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department
  • Work closely with all levels within the organization to ensure productivity and optimal inventory levels
  • Evaluate manpower capacity and requirements
  • Strive toward operational excellence by creating a positive work environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Production/Inventory or Materials Management
  • Strong knowledge of operational/production planning, scheduling, forecasting, ERP & MRP systems is required
  • Candidates must have the ability to lead, mentor and coach a small team
  • Excellent analytical skills are required as this role provides business analysis and KPI measurements to Management
  • Candidates must have exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • The ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic environment is required
  • Strong MS Office skills are essential for success in this position
